The Humane Society for Boone County promotes many successful activities and events throughout the year. Whether a summertime dog wash, photos with Santa Paws, the monthly adoption day, Lebanon's 4th of July parade, or all of the annual festivals. None of the events would be successful without our dedicated volunteers. Public awareness and fundraising in addition to rescue and adoption efforts are currently our primary missions. Each of these require the help of a trained and reliable volunteer staff. How do I get started as a volunteer?
If you are 18 or older, you can participate in our volunteer program.
Complete a Volunteer Application and Agreement and return by mail or e-mail. Once received, we will then contact you to advise when the next orientation is scheduled. For questions, please feel free to contact us at
765-485-8888 or e-mail us at HSforBC@gmail.com.
What do I need to bring to volunteer orientation?
After we contact you for an orientation, all you need to bring is yourself!
How many hours am I required to volunteer each week?
It will depend on which volunteer programs you select for participation, as some opportunities require training and a time commitment, while others do not. This is discussed in more detail at the orientation.
